Method
Prepare Glasses & Garnish
Rim the glass
Run a lime wedge around the outer rim of the serving glass. Dip the rim into a shallow plate of coarse salt to coat. Set glasses aside.
Prepare garnishes: cut lime wedges and pineapple or orange wedges and set on a small plate for each glass.
Mixing (For On the Rocks)
Combine ingredients
In a cocktail shaker filled halfway with ice, add 1/2 cup blanco tequila, 2 tablespoons (0.25 cup) Gran Gala, 1/2 cup orange juice, 1/2 cup pineapple juice, 1 cup specialty margarita mix, and 1/4 cup fresh lime juice.
Shake
Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until well chilled (shaker becomes cold to the touch).
Mixing (For Frozen)
Combine for blending
In a blender combine 1 cup specialty margarita mix, 1 cup blanco tequila, 1/4 cup Gran Gala, 1/2 cup orange juice, 1/2 cup pineapple juice, 1/4 cup fresh lime juice, and 3 cups ice. If you prefer a thicker frozen texture, add 1/2 cup more ice.
Blend
Blend on high until smooth and slushy, about 20–40 seconds depending on blender power. Stop and pulse to check texture; scrape sides if needed and blend again briefly.
Notes & Variations
Adjust sweetness/acidity: if mix is very sweet, add an additional 1–2 tablespoons fresh lime juice. For a stronger orange profile, increase Gran Gala by up to 1 tablespoon per serving.
Batching: scale ingredients proportionally for multiple servings. Keep refrigerated if making on the rocks mix ahead of time; if blending, blend just before serving.
