Spicy Honey Chicken Biscuit

Method

Preparing Spicy Honey Chicken Biscuit

1

Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl, combine buttermilk and hot sauce. Add chicken thighs and let marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.

2

Prepare the Breading

In another bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

3

Fry the Chicken

Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Remove chicken from marinade, letting excess drip off. Dredge in the flour mixture, ensuring it's evenly coated. Fry chicken for about 6-8 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

4

Make Spicy Honey Sauce

In a small saucepan, combine honey and red pepper flakes. Heat gently until warm, stirring to combine.

5

Prepare the Biscuits

Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in milk until a dough forms. Turn onto a floured surface, knead gently, then roll out to 1-inch thickness. Cut into rounds and place on a baking sheet.

6

Bake the Biscuits

Bake biscuits for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

7

Assemble the Dish

Place a biscuit on a plate, top with fried chicken, drizzle with spicy honey sauce, and serve with a side of homefries, hashbrowns, grits, fruit, or fries.
