Carnitas

Method

Preparation

1

Prepare the Pork

In a large slow cooker, combine the pork shoulder, orange juice, minced garlic, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well to ensure the pork is fully coated with the marinade.

2

Slow Cook the Pork

Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and shreds easily with a fork.

3

Prepare the Cauliflower

While the pork is cooking, steam the cauliflower florets until tender, about 5-7 minutes. Set aside.

4

Warm the Tortillas

In a skillet over medium heat, warm the tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.

5

Assemble the Tacos

Once the pork is cooked, shred it with two forks. Serve the shredded pork in the warm tortillas topped with guacamole, Yxta salsa brava, steamed cauliflower, and chopped cilantro.

6

Serve

Serve the carnitas tacos immediately with lime juice on the side for extra flavor.
