Preparation of Edamame
Boil Water
In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over high heat.
Add Edamame
Once the water is boiling, add 2 cups of edamame pods to the pot.
Add Salt
Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the boiling water with edamame.
Cook Edamame
Reduce the heat to medium and let the edamame cook for about 5 to 7 minutes until they are tender and bright green.
Drain Edamame
Once cooked, drain the edamame in a colander and set aside.
Optional Seasoning and Serving
Season Edamame
If desired, sprinkle garlic powder and red pepper flakes over the drained edamame for extra flavor.
Serve
Serve the edamame warm or at room temperature, with soy sauce and lemon juice on the side for dipping.
