Glass of Coke (single serving)

12 fl oz Coca‑Cola (chilled)6 pieces Ice cubes1 piece Lemon or lime wedge (optional)

Optional garnish and variations

1 piece Fresh mint sprig1 tsp Simple syrup (for sweeter/slightly different flavor)1 1/2 oz Bourbon or rum (for an alcoholic variant)

Method

Prepare glass

Chill and add ice

If the Coke isn't already chilled, refrigerate the bottle or can until cold. Fill a tall glass with 6 ice cubes, leaving room for the liquid and a small head of foam.

Pour and finish

Slowly pour 12 fl oz of chilled Coca‑Cola over the ice at a slight angle to reduce excessive foaming. Stop when the glass is nearly full, allowing a small amount of head (about 1/2 inch).

If desired, squeeze a lemon or lime wedge over the drink and drop it into the glass for a citrus note. Garnish with a mint sprig if using.

Optional variations

Sweetened or alcoholic

For a sweeter Coke, stir in 1 tsp simple syrup and gently mix. For an alcoholic version, add 1.5 oz bourbon or rum before pouring the Coke, then top with Coke and stir gently to combine.
