- 1
Prepare glass
Chill a double old-fashioned glass or tiki mug briefly by filling with crushed ice while you prepare the cocktail. Discard the chilling ice, leaving the glass cold.
- 2
Build and swizzle
In a mixing glass or julep-style tin, add Funk Harbor silver rum (2 oz), fresh pineapple juice (1.5 oz), fresh lime juice (0.75 oz), falernum (0.5 oz), orange bitters (2 dashes), and cinnamon syrup (0.5 oz). Add a generous handful of crushed ice (about 1 cup) to the mixing vessel. Using a swizzle stick or the back of a bar spoon, swizzle vigorously until the outside of the tin becomes frosty and the mixture is well-chilled, about 20β30 seconds. The drink should be slightly diluted and slushy in texture.

Absinthe mist
Place absinthe (0.25 oz) into an atomizer (perfume-style spritz bottle) or a small nonreactive container if you have a mister. Lightly mist the top of the drink with 2β3 short spritzes so a fine layer of absinthe aroma settles on the crushed-ice surface. If you don't have a mister, pour the absinthe into a bar spoon and gently tilt it over the glass allowing a thin stream to run around the inner rim for a subtler effect.
