- 1
Bring ingredients to serving condition
Remove Jamón Ibérico from refrigeration 15–30 minutes before serving so it reaches near room temperature — this enhances aroma and texture. Also remove Manchego and bread to take the chill off.
- 2
Prepare bread
Slice the baguette on a bias into 1/2-inch (1.2 cm) slices. Lightly brush both sides with 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil. Warm a skillet over medium heat and toast slices 30–60 seconds per side until just golden and crisp. Alternatively, toast in a 200°C (400°F) oven for 4–6 minutes. Keep warm.
- 3
Arrange Jamón
Using thin-slicing technique if not pre-sliced: lay each slice flat and gently fold or roll into loose rosettes or ribbons. On a warm or room-temperature platter, arrange 180 g (0.18 kg) of Jamón Ibérico in single-layer groups to allow pieces to breathe — avoid piling. Leave space for cheese, bread, nuts, and pickles.

Cheese and accoutrements
If using Manchego: cut into 1-cm-thick wedges or small bite-sized triangles and place next to the ham. Scatter 50 g toasted Marcona almonds in a small pile. Place 6 cornichons or pickled piquillo pepper strips in a separate small pile or dish.
- 5
Finish and serve
Drizzle remaining 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil in a thin stream across the ham slices (optional — don't drown; a light sheen is enough). Lightly grind 1 teaspoon black pepper over the plate and sprinkle 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley for color. Serve immediately with toasted bread on the side. Encourage diners to pair thin slices of Jamón Ibérico with a bite of Manchego or an almond for balanced texture and flavor.

Storage note
If any Jamón remains, re-cover loosely with parchment and plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator for up to 2–3 days. Bring back to near room temperature before serving.
