- 1
Prepare glass and ice
Select an old-fashioned or rocks glass that will comfortably hold a large block ice. Place one large block ice cube or hand-cut ice block into the glass. If you don't have a block, use several large ice cubes stacked to mimic one solid piece.
- 2
Combine ingredients
In a mixing glass or small jigger/measuring cup, add 2 oz Ritual Zero Proof Whiskey alternative and 0.5 oz pure maple syrup. Add 6 dashes of non-alcoholic aromatic bitters. If you want the drink slightly lighter in intensity or to simulate bar-style dilution, add 0.25 oz (a splash) of cold water.
- 3
Stir to integrate
Stir the mixture gently for 10–15 seconds with a bar spoon or small spoon to fully dissolve the maple syrup and marry the flavors. The goal is to chill and slightly aerate the mixture, not to over-dilute.
- 4
Strain over block ice
Using a Hawthorne or fine strainer, strain the stirred mixture directly over the prepared block ice in the rocks glass, letting the liquid run down the side of the ice so it sits elegantly on top and around the block.

Serve
Serve immediately with a short stirring spoon or pick. Encourage the drinker to sip slowly; the block ice will melt slowly, gently opening flavors as it dilutes.
