Sandwich

Spread & Seasoning

Optional (for hot/melted)

Method

Sandwich

  1. 1

    Prepare roll

Slice the hoagie roll lengthwise, leaving a hinge if you prefer. Toasting optional: if you want a warm/melted Swiss sub, brush the inside of both halves lightly with melted butter.

  2. 2

    Assemble meats and cheese

Layer the roast beef evenly along the bottom half of the roll, then layer the turkey on top. Lay the three slices of Swiss cheese over the meats, slightly overlapping so the cheese covers the length of the roll.

  3. 3

    Add vegetables

Arrange tomato slices over the cheese, then add red onion rings, dill pickle slices, and torn lettuce on top.

Spread & Seasoning

  1. 4

    Make dressing

In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, olive oil, red wine vinegar, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper until smooth and slightly emulsified.

  2. 5

    Dress sandwich

Spread the dressing evenly on the top half of the roll. Close the sandwich and press gently to compress ingredients slightly so it holds together.

Optional (for hot/melted)

  1. 6

    Toast and melt (optional)

If you want the Swiss melted, preheat a broiler or oven to 425°F (220°C). After assembling and brushing butter inside, place the sandwich on a baking sheet, open-faced if desired. Broil or bake for 3–6 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden — watch closely to avoid burning. Remove and close the sandwich if you toasted open-faced.
