Mild Buffalo Sauce

Method

Mild Buffalo Sauce

1

Melt butter and combine

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter until just liquid. Keep heat low so it does not brown.

2

Add hot sauce and honey

Whisk in the Frank's RedHot (or chosen cayenne hot sauce) and the light honey until fully combined and smooth.

3

Season and balance

Add the apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, kosher salt, and black pepper. Whisk continually for 1–2 minutes over low heat to allow flavors to meld. Taste and adjust: add an extra 1/2 tsp honey for sweeter/milder, or 1/2 tsp vinegar for brighter tang.

4

Adjust consistency (optional)

If the sauce is too thick, whisk in up to 1 teaspoon neutral oil a little at a time or remove from heat and whisk vigorously to emulsify. Keep warm until ready to use. The sauce will thicken slightly as it cools.

Optional Finish & Serving

5

Transfer sauce to a serving container or toss immediately with cooked protein (wings, cauliflower, shrimp, etc.). Garnish with chopped parsley or chives if desired. Serve hot or warm.
