Churro Dough

Method

Preparation

1

Make the Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

2

Add Flour

Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in the flour until the mixture forms a ball. Let it cool for a few minutes.

3

Incorporate Eggs

Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.

4

Heat Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C).

5

Pipe and Fry Churros

Using a piping bag fitted with a star tip, pipe 4-6 inch strips of dough into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes.

6

Drain and Coat

Remove churros from oil and drain on paper towels. Toss in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar while they are still warm.
