Carnitas Cooking Instructions

1

Prepare the Pork

Rub the pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, cumin, oregano, and minced garlic. Place it in a slow cooker or a large pot.

2

Add Ingredients

Add chopped onion, orange juice, lime juice, bay leaves, and water to the pot with the pork.

3

Cook the Pork

Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

4

Shred the Meat

Remove the pork from the pot, shred it using two forks, and return it to the pot to soak up the juices.

5

Prepare the Sides

Cook the rice and black beans separately according to package instructions.

6

Serve

Serve the carnitas with warm tortillas, rice, black beans, guacamole, and salad greens.
