French Toast Base
Whiskey Mixture
Method
Prepare the French Toast
Mix the Egg Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg until fully combined.
Soak the Bread
Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds on each side, ensuring it absorbs enough liquid without becoming too soggy.
Cook the French Toast
In a large skillet or griddle, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Once melted, add 2 slices of soaked bread to the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Repeat with remaining slices, adding more butter as needed.
Prepare the Whiskey Mixture
Combine Ingredients
In a separate bowl or pitcher, combine the whiskey, black walnut bitters, and maple syrup. Stir gently to mix the ingredients.
Serve
Once the French toast is cooked, serve it warm with a generous drizzle of the whiskey mixture over the top.
