Originally brewed for our 6th Anniversary. This Pale Lager was inspired by another Czech lager we love and admire, Budvar.

Med Bag of Chips

Ham, cheddar cheese, fresh tomatoes, and arugula.

Sliced turkey, lettuce, tomato, and mustard in a whole wheat wrap.

Heat 6 liters of filtered water in a large pot until it reaches 165°F (74°C).

Add 9 cups of Pilsner malt and 1 cup of Carapils malt to the hot water. Stir well to ensure all grains are submerged.

Maintain the mash temperature at 150°F (65°C) for 60 minutes, stirring occasionally.

After mashing, sparge the grains with additional hot water to collect about 5.5 liters of wort.

Bring the collected wort to a boil and add 2 tsp of Saaz hops. Boil for 60 minutes.

With 15 minutes left in the boil, add 1 tsp of Hallertau hops.

Cool the wort quickly to about 68°F (20°C) and transfer it to a fermentation vessel.

Pitch 1 package of German lager yeast into the cooled wort. Seal the fermentation vessel.

After fermentation is complete (about 2 weeks), bottle the beer with priming sugar and cap the bottles.

Let the bottles condition for another week at room temperature before refrigerating.
