Cocktail

1

Prepare glass

If desired, chill a coupe or rocks glass by filling with ice and water while you build the cocktail. Alternatively, place the glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes.

2

Combine ingredients

Add 2 oz reposado tequila, 1 oz Aperol, 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice, and 0.5 oz agave syrup into a cocktail shaker.

3

Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup) and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds, until the shaker is very cold and well-diluted.

4

Strain

Discard ice/water from your chilled glass if you chilled it. Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe or over fresh large ice in a rocks glass, using a fine strainer to catch any pulp or shards of ice.

5

Optional top

If you prefer a lighter, more spritz-like drink, top the cocktail with 1.5 oz soda water. Gently stir once to integrate.

6

Garnish and serve

Garnish with a lemon wheel perched on the rim or a lemon twist expressed over the drink. Serve immediately.

7

Notes on balance

Taste and adjust: if the cocktail is too tart, add 0.25 oz more agave; if too sweet, add 0.25 oz more lemon. Use quality reposado for warmth and Aperol for bitter-orange brightness.
