Classic Margarita

Method

Classic Margarita

1

Prepare glass

Run a lime wedge around the rim of a rocks or coupe glass. Pour coarse salt onto a small plate and dip the rim into the salt to coat. Set glass aside.

2

Mix

Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add 2 oz blanco tequila, 1 oz fresh lime juice, 1 oz orange liqueur, and 0.5 oz simple syrup (omit if you prefer a tarter drink).

3

Shake

Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until well chilled (shaker should become frosty).

4

Strain & Serve

Double-strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice (or neat into a chilled coupe). Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge.

5

Notes

Adjust simple syrup to taste. Use freshly squeezed lime juice for best flavor. For a lighter drink, reduce tequila to 1.5 oz and increase mixer slightly.

Fresa (Strawberry) Margarita

6

Prepare strawberry purée

If using fresh or frozen strawberries, hull and blend about 3–4 large strawberries until smooth. If desired, strain to remove seeds. Measure 1 oz purée.

7

Rim glass

Rub a lime wedge around the glass rim and dip into coarse sugar or salt, or a mix of sugar and a pinch of salt for contrast.

8

Mix

In a shaker, add ice, 2 oz tequila, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz orange liqueur, 1 oz strawberry purée, and 0.5 oz strawberry simple syrup or agave. If you prefer slushy, substitute crushed ice and shake longer or blend briefly.

9

Shake & Strain

Shake vigorously 12–15 seconds until chilled. Double-strain into the rimmed glass over fresh ice to remove pulp/seeds.

10

Garnish

Garnish with a fresh strawberry or a lime wedge. Taste and add a splash more syrup or lime if needed.

Mango Margarita

11

Prepare mango purée

Peel and dice 1 ripe mango and blend until smooth, or use store-bought purée. Measure 1 oz purée; if thicker, thin with a teaspoon of water or lime juice.

12

Rim glass

Rub lime around the glass rim and dip into coarse salt, or use tajín for a spicier profile.

13

Mix

In a shaker (or blender for frozen/crushed style), add ice, 2 oz tequila, 0.75 oz lime juice, 0.5 oz orange liqueur, 1 oz mango purée, and 0.5 oz agave nectar.

14

Shake/Blend

If shaking, shake vigorously 12–15 seconds and double-strain into a prepared glass over fresh ice. If blending for a frozen margarita, blend with 1–1.5 cups crushed ice until smooth and pour into the rimmed glass.

15

Garnish

Garnish with a mango slice or lime wheel. Adjust sweetness with extra agave if needed.
