Taco-style finishes (optional)

Method

Dough

  1. 1

    Activate yeast and mix dough

In a small bowl, combine warm water (about 105–115°F / 40–46°C), instant dry yeast and sugar. Let sit 5 minutes until foamy. In a large bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour and mix until a shaggy dough forms.

  2. 2

    Knead and rise

Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead 6–8 minutes until smooth and elastic (or use a stand mixer with dough hook for 4–5 minutes). Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap or a towel, and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 45–60 minutes.

  3. 3

    Shape dough

Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat. Punch down the risen dough and transfer to a lightly floured surface. Roll or stretch dough into a 12-inch round (or press into a 12-inch pizza pan), leaving a slightly thicker rim for the crust.

Meats (prepare toppings)

  1. 4

    Cook and season hamburger

In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess fat, then add taco seasoning and 2–3 tablespoons water. Simmer 2–3 minutes until seasoning is absorbed and beef is slightly saucy. Remove from heat and set aside.

  2. 5

    Cook Italian sausage (if raw)

If using raw Italian sausage links, remove casing and crumble into a skillet over medium heat. Cook until no pink remains, about 6–8 minutes, then drain and set aside. If pre-cooked, simply crumble and warm briefly.

  3. 6

    Prepare other meats

Slice garlic sausage thinly. Dice ham into small pieces. If bacon bits are not pre-cooked, crisp chopped bacon in a skillet until browned, drain and reserve 2 tablespoons for topping. Keep pepperoni slices ready.

Assemble & Bake

  1. 7

    Assemble pizza

Spread the tomato pizza sauce evenly over the stretched dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border for the crust. Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella over the sauce. Distribute the cooked ground beef (taco-seasoned), crumbled Italian sausage, garlic sausage slices, diced ham, pepperoni slices, and bacon bits evenly across the pizza. Top with the remaining mozzarella and sprinkle grated Parmesan and red pepper flakes if using.

  2. 8

    Bake

Transfer the assembled pizza to the preheated oven (onto the pizza stone or pizza pan). Bake 10–14 minutes, rotating halfway, until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.

Finish & Serve

  1. 9

    Finish

Remove pizza from oven and let rest 2–3 minutes. If using, dot or drizzle sour cream in small spoonfuls or make a thin ribbon across slices. Sprinkle chopped cilantro and sliced jalapeños to taste. Serve with lime wedges on the side to squeeze over individual slices.

  2. 10

    Slice

Use a pizza cutter to slice into 8 pieces. Serve hot.
