Tea concentrate
1. Steep tea
Bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil. Remove from heat and add 4 black tea bags. Steep for 5 minutes for a medium-strength brew or 7 minutes for stronger flavor.
2. Sweeten and cool
While the tea is still hot, add 1 cup granulated sugar and stir until completely dissolved to make a simple sweet tea concentrate. Remove the tea bags, gently squeezing them against the side of the pot to extract flavor, then discard the bags. Let the sweetened tea cool to room temperature, about 30–45 minutes, or place in the refrigerator to chill more quickly (15–20 minutes).

3. Mix lemonade base
In a large pitcher, combine 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice and 3 cups cold water. Taste for sweetness — if you prefer sweeter lemonade, add up to 2 tablespoons additional sugar or simple syrup and stir until dissolved.
4. Combine tea and lemonade
Pour the cooled sweet tea concentrate into the pitcher with the lemonade base. Stir to combine. The ratio here yields a balanced tea lemonade (half tea concentrate + half lemonade base). Taste and adjust: add more water if too strong, more lemon if too tart, or more sugar if needed.
5. Serve
Add 2 cups of ice to the pitcher or fill individual glasses with ice. Pour tea lemonade over ice. Garnish each glass with lemon slices and a few mint leaves if using. Serve immediately.
6. Make-ahead & storage
Store any leftover tea lemonade in a sealed pitcher or bottle in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Stir or shake before serving, as separation may occur.
