Soda Base

Method

Prepare Glass

1

Choose glass and chill

Select a tall chilled glass (highball or pint). If desired, place the glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes beforehand to get it nicely chilled.

2

Fill the glass about three-quarters full with ice cubes (approximately 1 cup). The ice helps keep the Coca-Cola cold and preserves the carbonation.

Assemble Drink

3

Pour 2 cups of cold Mexican-style Coca-Cola (glass-bottled or cane-sugar Coke) gently over the ice. Pour slowly down the side of the glass to retain carbonation and minimize foaming.

4

Cut the half lime (or quarter lemon if using) into a wheel or wedge. Squeeze the juice of the half lime (about 1/2 lime) lightly into the drink to add a bright citrus note. If you prefer less acidity, just squeeze a small spat of juice or omit.

5

Drop the squeezed lime half (or a lime wheel/wedge) into the glass as a garnish. Optionally add the lemon wedge for an extra citrus aroma if using.

Finish & Serve

6

Give the drink one gentle stir with a spoon or straw to distribute the lime juice without knocking out too much carbonation.

7

Serve immediately while very cold and fizzy. Enjoy with a straw or sip directly from the glass.
