Cocktail
1. Chill glass
If possible, chill the wine glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill briefly with ice water, then discard. A cold glass keeps the drink crisp longer.
2. Add ice
Fill the chilled glass about three-quarters full with fresh cubed ice (approximately 1 cup).
3. Pour Aperol
Measure and pour 2 oz (60 ml) Aperol over the ice.
4. Add Prosecco
Slowly pour 3 oz (90 ml) chilled Prosecco into the glass. Pour gently down the side or over the back of a bar spoon to reduce effervescence loss and preserve bubbles.
5. Top with soda
Add 1 oz (30 ml) chilled club soda on top to give a light fizz. Adjust soda to taste if you prefer more or less effervescence.
6. Stir gently
Using a bar spoon, stir the drink once or twice very gently to integrate the ingredients without flattening the Prosecco.
7. Garnish
Finish by placing one blood orange wheel or a frozen blood orange cube in the glass as a garnish. If using a frozen cube, it will keep the drink cold without diluting quickly.
8. Serve
Serve immediately while cold and fizzy. Provide a straw or stirrer if desired.
Optional / Tools
9. Use a jigger to measure Aperol, Prosecco, and soda for consistent balance. Use a bar spoon for gentle stirring.
