Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ahi Tuna

Season the Ahi tuna with salt and black pepper to taste. Heat a skillet over high heat and add sesame oil. Sear the tuna for about 1-2 minutes on each side for rare, or longer if desired. Remove from heat and let it rest.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Wontons

In the same skillet, quickly fry the wonton wrappers until golden and crispy, about 30 seconds on each side. Remove and set aside on paper towels to absorb excess oil.

  3. 3

    Make the Wasabi Vinaigrette

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, and wasabi paste until smooth. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if necessary.

  4. 4

    Make the Teriyaki Reduction Sauce

In a small saucepan, heat the teriyaki sauce over medium heat until it reduces slightly, about 5-7 minutes. Stir occasionally and remove from heat once thickened.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Dish

Slice the seared Ahi tuna into bite-sized pieces. Place a piece of tuna on each crispy wonton. Drizzle with the wasabi vinaigrette and teriyaki reduction sauce. Garnish with sesame seeds and finely chopped green onions.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve immediately while the wontons are still crispy. Enjoy your delicious seared Ahi tuna bites!
