Fit Turkey Wrap

In a large mash tun, heat 3 gallons of filtered water to 168°F (75°C). Add the Pilsner malt and Carapils malt, stirring to combine. Maintain the mash temperature at 152°F (67°C) for 60 minutes.

Prepare the Mash

After mashing, sparge the grains with an additional 2 gallons of hot water (170°F/77°C) to rinse out the sugars. Collect the wort in your brew kettle.

Sparging

Bring the collected wort to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.

Bring to a Boil

Once boiling, add the Saaz hops and boil for 60 minutes. Add the Hallertau hops in the last 15 minutes of the boil.

After the boil is complete, cool the wort quickly using a wort chiller or an ice bath until it reaches around 65°F (18°C).

Cool the Wort

Once cooled, transfer the wort to a sanitized fermenter, and pitch the lager yeast. Seal the fermenter with an airlock.

Pitch Yeast

Allow the beer to ferment at 50°F (10°C) for about 2 weeks, until fermentation is complete.

Primary Fermentation

After fermentation, add the corn sugar to the beer and bottle it. Store at room temperature for another 2 weeks to carbonate.

Carbonation

Once carbonated, chill the beer in the fridge, pour into a glass, and enjoy your Lu Dog 3000!
