Method

Making Cultured Butter

1

Whip the Cream

In a large mixing bowl, pour in the heavy cream and whip it using a hand mixer or stand mixer until it thickens and begins to separate into butter and buttermilk, about 10 minutes.

2

Drain Buttermilk

Once the butter forms, pour off the buttermilk into a separate bowl. You can save this for other recipes!

3

Rinse the Butter

Rinse the butter under cold water, kneading it gently to remove any remaining buttermilk. This helps to prolong the shelf-life of your butter.

4

Mix in Salt

Add the sea salt to the butter and mix well until incorporated. Taste and adjust salt if necessary.

5

Add Cultured Buttermilk

Fold in the cultured buttermilk gently until evenly distributed.

6

Shape and Chill

Transfer the butter to parchment paper or a butter dish, shape it as desired, and refrigerate until set.

7

Prepare for Serving

Once the butter is chilled and set, slice it into portions. Drizzle honey over each slice and shave black truffle on top for an exquisite finishing touch.

Enjoy

Serve the cultured butter with fresh bread, crackers, or as an accompaniment to your favorite dishes.
