Chocolate Flan Ingredients

Method

Chocolate Flan Preparation Steps

1

Prepare the Caramel

In a saucepan, add the granulated sugar and 1/2 cup of water. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves and turns a golden brown color. Quickly pour the caramel into a flan mold or individual ramekins, tilting to coat the bottom evenly. Set aside to cool and harden.

2

Blend the Flan Mixture

In a blender, combine the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth and well combined.

3

Bake the Flan

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the chocolate mixture over the hardened caramel in the mold. Place the mold in a larger baking dish and fill the baking dish with water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the flan mold. Bake for about 50-60 minutes or until the flan is set and a knife inserted comes out clean.

4

Cool and Serve

Once baked, remove the flan from the oven and let it cool to room temperature. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. To serve, run a knife around the edges of the mold, invert it onto a serving plate, and enjoy your delicious chocolate flan!
