Cheese Preparation
1. Mix the Cheese
In a medium bowl, combine the cheddar, mozzarella, Monterey Jack, and cream cheese. Mix well until all cheeses are evenly blended. Set aside.
Bread Preparation
2. Butter the Bread
Spread 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
3. Assemble the Sandwich
Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, on a clean cutting board. Spread half of the cheese blend evenly on top of each slice. Place the remaining two slices of bread on top, buttered side up.
Cooking
4. Heat the Pan
Heat a skillet over medium-low heat.
5. Cook the Sandwiches
Once the skillet is heated, carefully place the assembled sandwiches into the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
6. Season to Taste
During the last minute of cooking, sprinkle salt, pepper, and garlic powder on the top side of the sandwich.
Serving
7. Slice and Serve
Remove the sandwiches from the skillet and let them sit for a minute. Cut each sandwich in half and serve warm.
