Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

1

Prepare and combine

If you prefer a slightly brighter, more diluted cocktail, add all cocktail ingredients (Woodford Reserve, Aperol, Amaro Nonino, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, and bitters if using) to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. For a spirit-forward, colder but less diluted drink, add ingredients to a mixing glass with large ice.

2

Shake or stir

Shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds if using a shaker (until the shaker is chilled and slightly frosted). If using a mixing glass, stir for 20–30 seconds until well chilled and properly diluted (glass will feel cold).

3

Strain

Double strain (if shaken) through a fine mesh strainer into a chilled coupe or Nick & Nora glass. If stirred, strain through a Hawthorne/ julep strainer into the glass.

Garnish & Serve

4

Express a lemon twist over the surface of the cocktail to release oils, then rub the rim with the twist and drop it into the drink as garnish.

5

Serve immediately. Optionally, add a single large clear ice cube if serving in an old-fashioned glass for a slower melt and more controlled sipping experience.
