Limoncello Shot

Method

Limoncello Shot

1

Prepare glass (optional)

If you want a sugared rim, lightly wet the shot glass lip with a lemon wedge, then dip the lip into the superfine sugar so it adheres. Set the glass aside.

2

Combine liquids

Add the vodka, limoncello, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker or mixing glass.

3

Add ice and chill

Add 4 ice cubes to the shaker, secure the lid, and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the outside of the shaker becomes cold and slightly frosted. This chills and slightly dilutes the shot for balanced flavor.

4

Strain and serve

Strain the mixture into the prepared shot glass. If you prefer a short, slightly larger pour, use a rocks glass and strain over fresh ice.

5

Garnish

Express a lemon twist over the shot to release oils, then drop it in or place a thin lemon wheel on the rim. Serve immediately.

6

Notes: Adjust sweetness by increasing or decreasing the simple syrup in 0.25 oz increments. For a stronger limoncello character, increase limoncello up to 1 oz and reduce vodka by the same amount.
