Cocktail
Chill glass
Place a martini or coupe glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to chill it.
Prepare ingredients
If you don't have Fratello espresso liqueur, ensure you have a very cold strong espresso or cold brew. Chill the espresso/cold brew beforehand. Measure out vodka, Fratello espresso (or strong espresso), Kahlúa, Bailey's, optional simple syrup, and cooled espresso.
Combine and shake
Fill a cocktail shaker with the measured ice (about 1 cup). Add vodka (2 oz), Fratello espresso or strong espresso liqueur (1 oz), Kahlúa (0.5 oz), Bailey's (0.5 oz), cooled espresso (0.5 oz), and simple syrup if you prefer slightly sweeter (0.25 oz). Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 12–18 seconds. Vigorously shaking with ice creates the characteristic frothy crema on top.
Strain and serve
Remove the chilled glass from the freezer or discard the ice water. Double-strain (using the shaker's built-in strainer and a fine mesh strainer if available) the cocktail into the chilled martini/coupe glass to remove tiny ice shards and ensure a smooth surface for garnish.
Garnish
Garnish the surface of the cocktail with three whole coffee beans placed in a triangle or line. Serve immediately.
