Prepare the Ingredients

In a large pot, heat 8 cups of water to about 165°F (74°C). Add 4 cups of malted barley and 1 cup of corn. Stir the mixture and maintain the temperature for 60 minutes.

After mashing, bring the mixture to a boil. Once boiling, add 1 oz of hops and boil for another 60 minutes.

After boiling, cool the wort (the liquid) quickly by placing the pot in an ice bath or using a wort chiller until it reaches about 70°F (21°C).

Pour the cooled wort into a sanitized fermentation vessel and add the yeast. Seal the vessel and let it ferment for about 1-2 weeks at room temperature.

Fermentation

Once fermentation is complete, transfer the beer to sanitized bottles, leaving some space at the top. Cap the bottles and let them carbonate for an additional week.

Bottling

Cut 1 lime into wedges and have 1 tsp of salt ready for serving.

Prepare Lime and Salt

Chill the bottles of beer in the refrigerator. Serve cold, with a lime wedge and a sprinkle of salt on the rim of the glass.
