For the Cocktail (per 1 serving)

Method

Build and Serve

  1. 1

    Prepare glass

Choose a copper mug or highball glass. Fill the mug about three-quarters full with ice (cubed or crushed) so the drink stays well chilled.

  2. 2

    Combine base ingredients

In a cocktail shaker or mixing glass filled with a few ice cubes, pour 2 oz vodka, 2 oz fresh pomegranate juice, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, 0.25 tsp pomegranate molasses (if using), and 0.25 oz simple syrup. Shake briefly (5–8 seconds) just to chill and combine—do not over-dilute.

  3. 3

    Strain and top

Strain the chilled mixture into the prepared mug over the ice. Top with about 4 oz chilled ginger beer. Gently stir once or twice with a bar spoon to integrate the ginger beer without flattening the fizz.

  4. 4

    Garnish

Float 1 tbsp pomegranate arils on top, add a lime wheel or wedge on the rim, and tuck in a fresh mint sprig if desired. Optionally squeeze the lime wedge over the drink before dropping it in for extra brightness.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve immediately while fizzy and cold. Provide a straw or short stirrer. Enjoy responsibly.

Make-Ahead and Batch Instructions (optional)

  1. 6

To batch for a party, multiply the proportions for the vodka, pomegranate juice, lime juice, pomegranate molasses, and syrup in a pitcher and chill. Do not add ginger beer until serving; pour the premix into glasses over ice and top each with ginger beer to preserve carbonation.
