Method

Base Cocktail

  1. 1

    Chill glass

Place a coupe or rocks glass in the freezer or fill it with ice water to chill while you mix the drink.

  2. 2

    Measure and pour

Add 2 oz neutral spirit, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz simple syrup, and 0.5 oz orange liqueur into a cocktail shaker.

  3. 3

    Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker with ice, secure the lid, and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker feels cold.

  4. 4

    Strain

Discard ice or water from the chilled glass. Double-strain the contents of the shaker into the chilled glass (use a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh for a cleaner texture).

Optional Add-ins & Garnish

  1. 5

    Top with soda (optional)

If you prefer a lighter, longer drink, gently add about 1 oz club soda to the finished cocktail and stir once gently to combine.

  2. 6

    Bitters (optional)

Add 1–2 dashes of Angostura bitters on top for aromatic complexity.

  3. 7

    Garnish and serve

Garnish with a fresh citrus wheel or lime wedge. Serve immediately while cold.
