Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Prepare

If using egg white, ensure it's fresh. Chill a coupe or martini glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes.

  2. 2

    Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, add vodka (2 oz), sakura liqueur or cherry blossom syrup (1 oz), peach schnapps (1 oz), lychee liqueur or syrup (0.5 oz), fresh lemon juice (0.5 oz), grenadine (0.25 oz), simple syrup (0.25 oz) and the optional egg white (0.5).

  3. 3

    Dry shake

If using egg white, seal the shaker and dry-shake (no ice) vigorously for 12–15 seconds to build a silky foam.

  4. 4

    Shake with ice

Add ice (about 1 cup or enough to fill the shaker) to the shaker and shake hard for 10–15 seconds until the shaker is cold to the touch and well-aerated.

  5. 5

    Strain

Double-strain the mixture into the chilled coupe or martini glass to remove ice shards and any solids, preserving the foam on top.

Sparkle & Finish

  1. 6

    Top with sparkle

Gently pour 1 oz of chilled club soda or sparkling water down the side of the glass so it layers slightly and gives a delicate effervescence without breaking the foam.

  2. 7

    Garnish

Float an edible cherry blossom or place a maraschino cherry on the foam, and add a thin lemon wheel or twist on the rim for aroma.

  3. 8

    Serve

Serve immediately while the foam is fresh and the drink is fizzy. Recommend enjoying slowly to savor the layered floral and fruity sweetness.
