Warm Milk (Stovetop)
Pour 1 cup milk into a small saucepan. Warm over low to medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until it steams and small bubbles form around the edge (do not boil) — about 3–5 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in optional 1 teaspoon sweetener and a pinch of salt to taste. Pour into a mug and serve warm.

Bloom the cocoa: In a small bowl or directly in the serving cup, combine 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder and 1 tablespoon hot water. Stir until you have a smooth, thick chocolate paste with no lumps.
- 5
Sweeten the paste: Add 1.5 teaspoons granulated sugar (adjust to taste) and a pinch of salt to the cocoa paste. Stir until the sugar is mostly dissolved and the paste is smooth.
