Method

Preparing the Patty

1

Form the Patty

In a mixing bowl, gently combine the fresh ground chuck with salt and black pepper. Form the mixture into a round patty that is approximately 3/4 inch thick.

2

Grill the Patty

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Once hot, place the patty on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

3

Add Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of American cheese on top of the patty. Close the grill lid to melt the cheese.

Assembling the Burger

4

Prepare the Bun

While the patty is grilling, slice the burger bun in half and toast it lightly on the grill for a minute if desired.

5

Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of the toasted bun, place the lettuce leaf, then the grilled patty with melted cheese. Top with tomato slices, pickle slices, ketchup, and mustard. Finally, place the top half of the bun over the toppings.

6

Serve

Serve the cheeseburger immediately while hot, with any additional sides of your choice.
