Base Coffee

Milk / Milk Alternative

Ice (for iced version)

Method

Base Coffee

1

Grind and measure

Measure 0.67 cups (about 65-70 g) of medium-roast whole beans. Grind to the appropriate consistency for your brewing method: fine for espresso/Moka, medium-fine for AeroPress, medium for drip.

2

Brew strong coffee

Brew approximately 8 fl oz of strong coffee using your chosen method (espresso: two standard shots totaling ~2-3 fl oz each; AeroPress/Moka/drip: concentrate). If using drip, use a higher coffee-to-water ratio (about 1:12) to produce a strong concentrate. Use filtered water heated to about 195–205°F (90–96°C). Total brewed coffee volume should be about 8 fl oz.

Milk / Milk Alternative

3

Heat and froth milk

Measure 10 fl oz of whole milk or your chosen milk alternative. Steam or heat to 150–155°F (65–68°C). If you want a latte-style texture, use a steam wand or milk frother to create microfoam. If making an iced version, keep the milk cold and skip steaming.

4

Reserve about 1 fl oz of milk foam (or more to top the drink) if you want a foamy cap.

Sweeteners & Flavorings

5

Prepare syrups

If using simple syrup or flavored syrup, measure 1.5 tablespoons and add to the cup first so it dissolves evenly. Add 1/4 tsp vanilla extract if desired.

Assemble Hot Medium 20 oz

6

Combine hot beverage

Preheat your 20 oz cup by rinsing with hot water. Pour the syrup (and vanilla if using) into the cup. Pour in the brewed 8 fl oz of coffee concentrate, then add the 10 fl oz of steamed milk slowly while holding back foam with a spoon. Spoon the reserved foam on top (about 1 fl oz).

7

Garnish with a light dusting of cinnamon or cocoa powder (about 1/4 tsp) if desired. Serve immediately.

Assemble Iced Medium 20 oz

8

Combine iced beverage

Fill your 20 oz cup about 3/4 full with ice (roughly 1.5–2 cups). Add 1.5 tablespoons syrup and 1/4 tsp vanilla if using. Pour in the 8 fl oz of cooled strong coffee concentrate over the ice, then add 10 fl oz cold milk. Stir gently to combine. Leave a little headroom for foam or a few extra ice cubes.

9

Top with a small scoop of cold foam or extra froth if desired and dust with cinnamon or cocoa powder.

Serve and Adjust

10

Taste and adjust sweetness or strength: add more syrup (1/2 tbs increments) for sweetness or add a splash more brewed coffee (1–2 fl oz) for stronger coffee taste. Stir and serve.

11

Clean and purge milk-steaming equipment after use.
