Classic Pour
Optional Garnish & Variations
Method
Classic Pour
Chill a highball or Collins glass (or a serving glass) in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice to cool it while you prepare.
Open a chilled 12 oz bottle or can of Coca‑Cola. Pour slowly down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation and reduce foaming. Stop when the liquid reaches about 1⁄2 inch (1 cm) below the rim.
Serve immediately with a straw or stirrer. Encourage sipping to enjoy carbonation and flavor.
Optional Garnish & Variations
Cherry Garnish
Place a maraschino cherry on top or skewer it on a cocktail pick and rest across the rim for visual appeal.
Cuba Libre (Rum Variation)
For an alcoholic variation, add 1.5 oz of white rum to the glass before pouring Coca‑Cola, squeeze in a lime wedge, stir gently to combine, then top with Coke and garnish with a lime wedge.
Mint Refresh
Bruise a fresh mint sprig lightly between your palms to release oils, slap it once against your palm to aromatize, then tuck into the glass as a fresh aromatic garnish. Do not muddle unless you want stronger mint flavor.
