1

Prepare glass

Fill a highball or large rocks glass with ice cubes until nearly full (about 1 cup of ice). Chilling the glass briefly beforehand is optional.

2

Build base

Pour 1 oz apricot liqueur over the ice. Add 0.5 oz orange cordial (or syrup) and 0.5 oz fresh orange juice if using, then add 0.25 oz fresh lemon juice. These sweet-and-acid elements create balance and ensure the apricot flavor complements the wine.

3

Add wine

Slowly pour 3 oz Spanish red wine (Tempranillo or Garnacha works well) down the side of the glass or over the back of a spoon to avoid excessive agitation and to keep some layering and aroma intact.

4

Top with cola

Gently top the drink with 2 oz chilled cola. Pour slowly so the effervescence lifts flavors without flattening the wine completely.

5

Stir gently

Using a long bar spoon, give the cocktail 2 gentle turns to integrate the liqueur, cordial, wine, and cola while preserving carbonation.

6

Garnish and serve

Garnish with an orange wheel or a twist on the rim. Serve immediately with a straw or stirrer. Optionally provide a small spoon so the drinker can adjust sweetness by mixing more thoroughly if desired.
