Mezcalita Cocktail
Method
Mezcalita Cocktail
- 1
Prepare the glass
Choose a rocks glass or coupe and chill briefly (5–10 minutes in freezer) if desired. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of the glass, then dip the rim into a small plate of coarse sea salt to coat evenly. Set the glass aside.
- 2
Mix the cocktail
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice (about 1 cup). Add 2 oz The Lost Explorer Mezcal Espadín, 1 oz Cointreau, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.25 oz agave syrup (omit or increase slightly to taste).
- 3
Shake
Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosted. This chills and dilutes the drink to proper balance.
- 4
Strain and serve
Double-strain (through the cocktail shaker strainer and a fine mesh strainer if available) into the prepared salted glass over fresh ice (one large cube or several smaller cubes) or serve straight up into the chilled glass without ice, according to preference.
- 5
Garnish and finish
Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve immediately.
