1

Prepare the glass

Choose a chilled rocks or coupe glass. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of the glass to moisten it. Spread the black lava salt evenly on a small plate and dip the rim into the salt so it adheres; rotate to coat about half to three-quarters of the rim depending on preference. Set the glass aside.

2

Mix

Fill a cocktail shaker with a generous amount of ice. Add 2 oz Patrón Añejo, 0.75 oz amaretto, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice and 0.25 oz agave syrup (optional, only if you prefer slightly sweeter balance).

3

Shake

Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for about 12–15 seconds, until the shaker is well-chilled and slightly frosted.

4

Strain

Fine-strain the cocktail into the prepared glass over fresh ice (for a rocks presentation) or without ice into the chilled coupe if you prefer a straighter-up serve.

5

Garnish & serve

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve immediately. The smoky/bitter note of the black salt contrasts with the sweet almond of the amaretto and the oak/vanilla of the Añejo for a balanced Kuro Ame Margarita.
