Cocktail

2 oz Vodka (preferably Skyy or another clean, neutral vodka)1/2 oz Blue curaçao1/2 oz Fresh lime juice1/4 oz Simple syrup (1:1 sugar to water)1 oz Club soda (optional, for a lighter finish)1 cup Ice1 to taste Lime wheel or twist (garnish)

1 tbsp Coarse sugar or sparkling sugar1 each Lime wedge (to wet rim)

Prepare glass

If you want a sugared rim, rub the lime wedge around the lip of a chilled rocks or coupe glass until evenly moistened. Dip the glass rim into the coarse sugar, turning to coat. Set the glass aside to let the sugar set while you mix the cocktail.

Cocktail

Combine and chill

Fill a cocktail shaker with the ice. Add 2 oz vodka, 0.5 oz blue curaçao, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.25 oz simple syrup to the shaker.

Shake

Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is very cold and well-chilled.

Strain

Double-strain (or fine-strain) the cocktail into the prepared chilled glass. If you prefer a lighter, slightly effervescent drink, top with about 1 oz club soda poured gently down the side.

Garnish and serve

Garnish with a lime wheel or twist on the rim. Serve immediately.
