Prepare glass (optional)

If you prefer a salted or sugared rim, rub the lime wedge around the outside top edge of a highball or Collins glass, then dip the rim into a small plate of coarse salt or sugar until evenly coated. Set the glass aside.

Mix

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add 2 oz Absolut Vodka, 1 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz simple syrup to the shaker.

Shake

Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds, until the outside of the shaker is cold and slightly frosty.

Strain and top

Fill the prepared glass with fresh ice. Double-strain the shaken mixture into the glass to remove small ice shards and pulp. Top gently with 2 oz club soda and stir once or twice with a bar spoon to combine.

Garnish

Finish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim or floated in the drink.

Serve

Serve immediately while cold. Optionally provide a straw.
