Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Build and shake

Add vodka, lingonberry syrup, fresh lemon juice and cardamom bitters into a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup). Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the exterior of the shaker is cold and properly diluted.

  2. 2

    Strain

Double-strain the mixture (through the shaker's built-in strainer and a fine mesh strainer if available) into a chilled coupe or flute, leaving space for the cava.

  3. 3

    Top with cava

Gently top the strained cocktail with 2 oz (about 1/4 cup) of chilled cava. Pour slowly down the side of the glass to preserve bubbles and avoid excessive foaming.

Garnish & Serve

  1. 4

Skewer 3–4 lingonberries or cranberries on a small cocktail pick and rest it across the rim, or drop them into the glass. Express a lemon twist over the top to release oils, then rim the glass with the twist and drop it in or perch it on the rim.

  2. 5

Serve immediately while the cava is effervescent. Optionally offer an extra dash of cardamom bitters on top for an aromatic finish.
