1

Chill glass

Place a Nick & Nora or coupe glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes, or fill it with ice water while you prepare the drink to chill it.

2

Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, add the vanilla vodka (2 oz), Dapper Baron's coffee liqueur (1 oz), chilled cold press coffee (1 oz), and brown sugar syrup (0.5 oz).

3

Add ice and shake

Add large ice cubes to the shaker (enough to three-quarter fill). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker exterior becomes very cold and the mixture is well diluted and slightly frothy.

4

Prepare glass

If you used ice water to chill the glass, dump it out. If you chilled the glass in the freezer, take it out now.

5

Double strain and serve

Double strain the cocktail into the chilled glass using a Hawthorne and fine mesh strainer to remove ice shards and any coffee grounds, yielding a smooth silky texture.

6

Garnish

Express an orange twist over the drink and drop it in (optional). Lightly grate fresh nutmeg over the surface to finish (to taste).

7

Serve

Serve immediately. This cocktail is slightly boozy, sweet with rich coffee notes and a vanilla backbone.
