Method
Cocktail
- 1
Prepare shaker
Chill a coupe or rocks glass by filling it with ice and set aside. Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with fresh ice.
- 2
Measure and pour 2 oz Norseman vodka into the shaker.
- 3
Add 0.5 oz Tattersall aquavit to the shaker. The aquavit will add savory caraway/anise notes that balance the sweetness.
- 4
Pour 0.5 oz crème de mûre into the shaker to introduce a rich blackberry note and deep color.
- 5
Add 2 oz pineapple juice for tropical sweetness and body. If using fresh pineapple, strain to remove pulp for a smoother texture.
- 6
Add 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice to brighten the drink and provide necessary acidity. Always use fresh citrus for best flavor.
- 7
Add 0.5 oz agave syrup to balance tartness. Adjust slightly (±0.25 oz) depending on pineapple sweetness and personal preference.
- 8
Cap the shaker and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker feels well chilled (this both chills and slightly dilutes the cocktail).
- 9
Dump the ice from the chilled serving glass and double-strain the cocktail into the glass using a Hawthorne and a fine mesh strainer to catch small ice shards and any pulp or seeds.
Garnish & Serve
- 10
Thread a fresh blackberry onto a cocktail pick (if using) and rest it across the rim, or float it on the surface of the drink.
- 11
- 12
Serve immediately while cold. Suggest serving with a short straw if using a rocks glass.
