Method
Jam & Simple Mix
- 1
Loosen jam
Place 1/2 cup house-made mixed berry jam in a small heatproof bowl. Add 1 tablespoon granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons hot water to the jam.
- 2
Stir vigorously until the jam, sugar, and water combine into a smooth, pourable syrup (about 30–45 seconds). If too thick, add up to 1 tablespoon more hot water, 1/2 tablespoon at a time.
- 3
While still warm, whisk in 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice until fully incorporated. This creates the flavored jam syrup that will sweeten and acidify the drink.
Cocktail
- 4
Muddle mint
In a cocktail shaker or sturdy mixing glass, add 8 fresh mint leaves and 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice. Gently muddle (press and twist) 6–8 times to release the oils — do not shred the leaves.
- 5
Combine jam syrup
Add 2–3 tablespoons of the warm jam syrup you prepared (adjust to taste) to the muddled mint and lemon in the shaker.
- 6
Add liquids and ice
Pour in 6 oz chilled lemonade and 2 oz chilled cranberry juice. Add about 1 cup of cubed ice to the shaker. Secure the lid.
- 7
Shake
Shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the exterior of the shaker is cold and slightly frosted. This chills and dilutes the mix properly.

Serve immediately. Taste and adjust: add more jam syrup for sweetness, more lemon for brightness, or more cranberry for tartness.
