Cuba Libre
Method
Cuba Libre
Prepare glass
Choose a highball glass (approx. 300–350 ml). Fill the glass with ice cubes so the drink will stay cold and dilute slightly as served.
Add rum and lime
Pour 60 ml Havana Club dark rum over the ice. Add 15 ml freshly squeezed lime juice. If you like a brighter citrus note, squeeze the lime wedge briefly into the drink before dropping it in.
Optional bitters
If using, add 1 dash of Angostura bitters on top and stir gently once to integrate — this adds aromatic complexity but is not traditional.
Garnish and serve
Give the drink a gentle stir (1–2 revolutions) to combine. Garnish with the remaining lime wedge on the rim. Serve immediately with a straw if desired.
