Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Prepare glass

If serving in a chilled coupe or rocks glass, fill it with ice water to chill while you build the drink. Alternatively, use a glass filled with fresh ice if serving on the rocks.

  2. 2

    Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, add 1 oz Baileys, 0.5 oz Kahlua, 0.5 oz vodka, and 1 oz cold brewed coffee. If you prefer a sweeter cocktail, add 0.25 oz simple syrup. Add enough ice to the shaker to come about two-thirds full (about 0.5–0.75 cups).

  3. 3

    Shake

Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker feels very cold and the mixture is slightly frothy from the coffee and cream liqueur.

  4. 4

    Strain and serve

Discard the ice water from the chilled serving glass if you used it. Double-strain the mixture into a chilled coupe or over fresh ice in a rocks glass, depending on preference. Expect the total drink volume to be roughly 2 oz plus dilution.

  5. 5

    Garnish (optional)

Float a few coffee beans on top or grate a little dark chocolate over the surface for aroma and presentation.
