Margarita Mix
Garnish & Rim
Method
Prep Rim & Garnish
- 1
- 2
Prepare garnish
If using, cut a thin mango slice and set it aside on a napkin. Keep the lime wedge for garnish.
Make Mango Purée (if not using prepared)
- 3
Peel and dice about 1/2 cup fresh ripe mango (about 1 small mango). Place the mango pieces in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. If the purée is very thick, add 1/2 tablespoon (about 7–8 ml) cold water to loosen. Strain through a fine mesh if a silkier texture is desired. Measure 2 tbsp of purée for the cocktail.
Mix Cocktail
- 4
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice (about 4–6 oz by volume). Add 1.5 oz El Tequileño Legacy reposado tequila, 0.5 oz triple sec, 2 tbsp fresh mango purée, and 0.75 oz fresh lime juice.
- 5
Add 0.5 oz cold water to adjust consistency (optional — use if purée is thick). Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosted.
- 6
Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass over fresh ice (preferably a rocks glass).
Finish & Serve
- 7
Garnish the drink with the mango slice on the rim and a lime wedge. Optionally sprinkle a light pinch of Tajín on top of the drink for an extra pop of chili-lime flavor.
- 8
Serve immediately. No added sugar — the mango and triple sec provide fruit and orange notes without added syrups.
