Method

Cake Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.

3

Beat the Eggs

In another bowl, beat the eggs until they are light and frothy.

4

Combine Ingredients

Add the whole milk and vanilla extract to the beaten eggs, mixing until combined.

5

Combine Wet and Dry

Gradually add the egg mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined and smooth.

6

Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Milk Mixture Preparation

7

Combine Milks

In a medium bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and whole milk.

8

Soak the Cake

Once the cake has cooled for about 10 minutes, poke holes all over the top of the cake with a fork. Slowly pour the milk mixture over the cake, allowing it to soak in.

9

Chill the Cake

Cover the cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Topping Preparation

10

Whip the Cream

In a large bowl, beat the heavy cream with an electric mixer until soft peaks form.

11

Add Sugar and Vanilla

Add granulated sugar and vanilla extract to the whipped cream, and continue beating until stiff peaks form.

12

Frost the Cake

Spread the whipped cream over the top of the chilled cake. Optionally, sprinkle with cinnamon before serving.
