Cocktail

1

Prep glass

If desired, chill a coupe or martini glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes. Lightly toast shredded coconut in a dry skillet over medium heat until golden and fragrant (about 2–3 minutes), then set aside to cool.

2

Combine ingredients

Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice (about 1 cup). Add vodka (2 oz), coconut cream (1 oz), amaretto (0.75 oz), and cold brewed coffee or chilled espresso (1 oz). If you prefer a slightly sweeter drink, add 0.25 oz simple syrup.

3

Shake

Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is cold and the mixture is well emulsified — this helps create a silky, slightly frothy texture from the coconut cream.

4

Strain and serve

Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe or martini glass to remove ice chips (use a Hawthorne and fine mesh if available).

5

Garnish

Sprinkle the toasted shredded coconut in a small mound on one side of the drink or rim the glass lightly. Optionally float 2 coffee beans on top for aroma and presentation.

6

Notes

Adjust coconut cream amount for richness: use slightly more (1.25–1.5 oz) for a creamier, dessert-like cocktail. If using sweetened cream of coconut, omit or reduce simple syrup. Serve immediately.
